Let's talk about what matters.
Keynotes, panels, podcast appearances, media segments and advisory work, on healthy homes, sustainability, efficiency, and the overlap between all three.
Most of what I do for a living happens inside other people’s walls, where no one can see it. Speaking is the one place the work comes out into the open. I get to take a subject people find dry or intimidating, home energy, indoor air, the building science of an ordinary house, and make it plain enough that someone leaves the room able to act on it.
I am at my best in a real exchange rather than a lecture. Give me a panel, a workshop, or a room that asks hard questions and I am happy. What I care about is that the audience leaves with something true and usable, not a pitch. If that is the kind of session you are building, I would be glad to come.
Four areas, one coherent worldview. Any of these can anchor a keynote, panel, or media segment.
The High-Performance Home
What building science actually looks like. How air sealing, insulation, combustion safety, and diagnostic testing work together to make a home measurably better. Practical and evidence-based, for homeowners and professionals alike.
Healthy Homes, Healthier Lives
The expanding frontier of home performance: indoor air quality, healthfulness testing, VOC reduction, ventilation, and what it means to build a home around the health of the people who live in it.
Conscious Living at Scale
How individual home choices compound into community impact, and how public-private programs, incentive structures, and contractor networks can make the sustainable choice the easy one rather than the heroic exception.
Story as Infrastructure
On building ventures with a shared name and a shared set of values. How Ciel Power, the CIEL journal, and Ciel Productions grew from the same root, and what happens when a company decides to tell its own story.
A national conference, a state-policy panel, and a decade of work closer to home.

He wrote #HOME: 101 Ways to Improve Your Home Comfort and Energy Efficiency in 2016, and has appeared on ABC World News Tonight and in The New York Times. He served as board president of CivicStory and is a member of the NYC Fair Trade Coalition and the NJ Sustainable Business Council. He and his wife Carissa are raising a family in New Jersey.
